Photographer Highlight: Rasmus Kaessmann

In response to the water damage in the photo department, I decided to research some photographers that use water a lot in their photos.  In this post, I would like to introduce one of those photographers, Rasmus Kaessmann.  He's done work for Nike and Men's Health- and many other big names.
I love the lighting he uses, and I really respect how he uses the figure in context to the rest of the frame.

Movement is such a vital part in most of his imagery, as well.  I think I could benefit from incorporating more motion to make my photos more active.

You can download his portfolio online, which I thought was really cool, but very unusual considering the hot topic of stealing imagery.  So many photographers are going out of their way to make their images "protected," yet Rasmus allows anyone who views his site to download the pdf version of his portfolio; you can see his images full size and as a book-style layout.  He's currently living in Berlin...I wonder if this is common for the Berlin photo industry...

This is a photo of him:
